For the Stalker in all of us

Here is a fantastic website. It is for the Missouri Courts. If you enter in a name, it will tell you anytime this person has been either a defendant, plaintiff, or basically anything to do with a trial in the State of Missouri.

Don't worry, I looked up all kinds of people. I have a lot of friends who have gotten speeding tickets (it also includes traffic court).

I especially enjoyed that my mother is in there from when she sued the Ritz Carlton in small claims court because the valet broke the antenna on her car. After she filed, she was contacted by the now defunct TV show Texas Justice. True Story. They wanted to hear the case on the show. Connie (my mom) was cool with it, but alas....the Ritz Carlton would not go along with the show appearance, and chose to settle out of court. Their lawyer wrote her this hilarious letter about how they were going to pay her to fix the car, and for all her trouble, but they were not admitting any fault in the situation. So no white trash TV court appearance for Connie!

Anyway, have fun finding skeletons in people's closet.

Awesome Website I just found out about!

This is very cool. It's called Pandora, and what you do is enter the name of either a song you like, or a singer, and it creates a playlist for you of songs based on your selection. It's totally free and very intriguing.

I put Tom Jones in, and have been enjoying some lovely selections of his songs and other artists songs that I dig, but would have never thought of. Amazing.

P.S. Just for kicks and giggles, I put in Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice, and it returned with a groovin' mix of early 90s hip hop. I was a fan.

Tasteless T-Shirt of the Week

As soon as I figure out how to download pictures, I will have a visual for this. Until then, here is a verbal description.

A pink shirt w/ an etched pic of Heath Ledger - underneath it says...

"It Should have been Britney".

Wow.

55% and the Kennedys?

O.K.

So I know that Obama has gotten a lot of support (Oprah, a lot of celebrities) and I want to preface this by saying that I do like him (not as much as Clinton) , and would not object to his getting the democratic nomination, but seriously.......

How in the world did he get 55% of the democratic votes in the South Carolina primary? That is out of control. I understand that Edwards was pretty much out of it, so it wasn't going to be a 3 way tie or anything, and I had a feeling Obama was going to win, but I never expected him to bat over .500.

My girl, Hil, better take this as a big wake up call for next Tuesday. I don't think even a crying session on National TV will make up for this loss.

So, the Kennedys.....

I do not even know where to file this. Caroline Kennedy - the only remaining spawn of JFK actually compared Obama to her father!

Here's the quote from the New York Times:

"On Sunday, Caroline Kennedy endorsed Obama, saying he could inspire people like her charismatic father did."

Ted and Patrick are endorsing Obama also. Hil did get Bobby Jr., his sister Kerry, and Kathleen Kennedy Townsend...but not that I am discounted those members of the Ked Klan, but Ted and Caroline are the heavy national hitters.

I'm just surprised. Oh well. There are a lot of primaries to go yet. Its gearing up for a great election season. I am already getting excited!!!!

Random Song Stuck in my Head that I don't know more that one Line of...

Basket Case Green Day

Great New Find in NYC

We went into Manhattan Friday night from this program I am operating in New Jersey (very close to Rutgers University actually).

We went to the lower East Side or East Village (there was some debate among the crowd as to which section of the fine city we were actually in) Anyway.....

I discovered the most super fun Karaoke bar of my vast Karaoke bar experience!

It's called "Sing Sing". It is, of course, a creative play on words that was not lost on me. The karaoke reference is obvious. And, I don't know if this was intentional or not, but I believe that is a Japanese or Asian phrase of some sort. Wasn't that the name of that Giant Panda at the Washington DC Zoo? I will research this...........

The reason that is relevant is that the place had a very Asian feel. They served Chinese and Japanese beers. All the bartenders and waitstaff were Asian. Also, they had a huge Sake menu of by the glass and by the bottle.

The best part about it was the singing. Instead of having a stage, they had a bunch of wireless microphones that, when it was your turn to sing, they handed to you, and you could sing and move all around the bar. Hilarious!!!! Drunk guys were walking up to girls and singing to them....reminiscent of Tom Cruise in Top Gun singing You've Lost that Loving Feeling. There were a bunch of screens with the words, so you were never having to stay in one place even if you didn't know them.

It was very Vegas lounge singer -eque and I loved it. I felt like more than just a karaoker....I was an entertainer. I did have to clear a small area to perform my dance moves to Holding out for a Hero, but the "very into my singing talents" crowd was happy to oblige.

Another feature of this place that was unique was the private karaoke rooms available for rent. They had their own screen, and couches and could sit probably about 5-8 peeps. I could understand how some would think this was cool, but let's face it....if you are not going to perform for the masses at a bar, you might as well be at your couch at home with a $29 singing machine from Walmart.

Can't wait to go back to this place, but alas I don't believe it will be on this trip. I do understand that the same owners have one in Denver. Maybe that trip will be soon. I think it would not be as cool there. What I mean is that, this was a hole in the wall. Only Manhattan can be home to a plae like this. I think if I saw it in a Strip mall somewhere, it would lose the attraction.

I said I would never do this......

Hey Party People out there,

I swore I was not the bloggin' type, but alas I have run out of people who want to hear the ramblings and inter workings of my mind over the phone, so the next best option.....post them for the whole world.

I don't know what direction this adventure will go, but hop on...I hope you enjoy the ride!
